Dallas Willard shared those words on more than one occasion, and we believe he was correct. His vision for discipleship and kingdom living is the driving force behind the newest venture offered by Dallas Willard Ministries.
It’s called the School of Kingdom Living, a journey of Christ-centered learning and training in community. Over the course of 18 months, we host four week-long residencies at a picturesque retreat center in Los Angeles. With Dallas’ books as the primary curriculum, we help people discern God’s voice, uncover the heart behind Jesus’ Gospel, experience character transformation and understand spiritual practices at a deeper level.
The School of Kingdom Living is intended for anyone who wants to incorporate the teachings of Jesus where they live, work, learn and play. Our cohorts provide a rich, experiential learning atmosphere through stimulating lectures, spiritual practices and honest dialogue.
When the decision was made to launch the School, our Board of Directors said, “This is the signature piece we’ve been waiting for.” We are excited about the impact this program will make. Despite only having six weeks to promote the School, we admitted thirty-one people into our first cohort, which begins in January.
In order for the School of Kingdom Living to fully and successfully launch, it’s going to require a community effort. We are inviting people to partner with us and invest in the work of God. Our goal is to reach $75,000 by December 2021. These funds will help us secure top-tier faculty, offer necessary resources to our current students, scholarships for future students, as well as cover a portion of annual salary for the School’s Director, John Carroll, and provide the liability insurance necessary for running the program
