Hearing God in Real Life

August 5-6, 2011
St. Peter’s Anglican Church - Birmingham, AL

Dallas takes the idea of hearing God out of the realm of religion and puts it in the context of real life. Then he provides a solid theological foundation for discussing the idea of hearing God. These four teaching sessions are from a Friday-Saturday Hearing God retreat presented on August 5-6, 2011 at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Alabama. The titles of the talks include:

  1. Theological Foundations of the “Hearing God” Life
  2. Experiences of "Hearing God"
  3. How the Gentle Voice of God Comes to Us - Sermon on the Mount
  4. Barriers to and Blessings of a Hearing God Life

Resources

1: Theological Foundations of the “Hearing God” Life

Dallas begins a four-part series by laying the biblical and theological foundations for hearing from God. The hope is that we would learn to hear from and respond to God, not only in religious settings, but in everyday life.

2: Experiences of "Hearing God"

This second session in the 4-part series covers Biblical patterns and what they have to teach us, the “normal” way it works—then and now, the nature and meaning of “the still, small voice" (I Kings 19:12), why God’s voice is so gentle and must be sought.

4: Blessings and Barriers of a "Hearing God Life"

In this final session, Dallas deals with standard objections and problems to hearing God and explains why it is so important for all disciples to understand and practice the hearing God life.
