What was really happening on Good Friday? Dallas was firmly convinced that Jesus was not a victim of the Romans or of Satan when he went to the cross. Jesus is God, and he was fully in control of the events that transpired. It was his plan! And the way that plan works out is why we can call such an awful day “good.”

Jesus very carefully planned his death; you don’t want to think of him as a victim. He was playing Pilate and the other authorities like a great artist plays the piano. Good Friday gives us a window into how God triumphs over everything. The cross is the doorway into eternal life; something beyond this life that is available to us right now – an eternal life that we take with us wherever we go.
